Examine Front Wheel Bearing



Examine front wheel bearings
Method 1
-          Jack the front end of the vehicle.
-          Make sure the steered wheels are clear from the ground.
-          Rotate each wheel one-by-one and listen for any sound indicating roughness in the bearing ( metal grinding or scratching sound)

What to do if bearings are making sound
-          Replace current bearing with a new one

Method 2
-          Jack the front end of the vehicle
-          Make sure the steered wheels are clear from the ground.
-          Rock or shake each wheel one-by-one
-          Make sure the wheels do not shake

Check
-          the amount of movement between the stub axle and the axle beam
-          the movement in the swivel joints, and the security of their attachment to the stub axle and suspension arms

What do to if wheels shake
-          Tighten the wheel bearing bolt until wheels do not shake
